A 10-Week Podcasting and Public Speaking Workshop with MySGV Podcast.
CTA has teamed up with MySGV Podcast, the San Gabriel Valley's popular Instagram interview show, to teach ages 9-18 how to podcast, interview, and speak with confidence. Classes run in the real studio where MySGV records its episodes - and in the final week, every student sits down for a recorded one-on-one interview with the Mayor of Arcadia.
A real podcast channel. A real stage for your child.
Creation Talent Academy has partnered with MySGV Podcast, the Instagram interview channel covering the San Gabriel Valley - business owners, local officials, and community voices from Pasadena to Diamond Bar. Their episodes regularly reach audiences in the tens of thousands.
MySGV now records at CTA's Arcadia studio. That means your child learns podcasting in the same space where real episodes are produced - with the equipment, the cameras, and the people who do this every week.
This is not a classroom pretending to be a studio. It is the studio.
Why this workshop is different
Most speech programs end with a class presentation. This one ends with your child's interview footage - professionally recorded, featured on a real channel, and backed by a certificate from the Mayor's office.
It is a communication skill, a portfolio piece, and a college application story in one program.
What they will learn in 10 weeks
Two hours a week of hands-on training - every student on the mic, every session.
Podcasting Fundamentals
How to plan, structure, and record an episode from idea to final cut.
The Art of the Interview
Asking sharp questions, listening closely, and following up like a pro - both giving and receiving interviews.
Public Speaking
Speaking with clarity, confidence, and distinction - on mic, on camera, and in the room.
Studio and Equipment
Hands-on with real production gear: microphones, cameras, and recording setup.
Storytelling
Finding the narrative inside a conversation and shaping it into something people want to hear.
On-Camera Presence
Poise under the lights - body language, voice, and composure when the recording starts.
Week 10: they interview the Mayor of Arcadia.
Every student prepares their own questions and sits down one-on-one with Arcadia's mayor - a real interview, professionally recorded in the studio.
A one-on-one interview with the Mayor - their questions, their ideas, their five minutes.
Professionally recorded footage they keep - a portfolio piece most adults never get.
A Certificate of Recognition from the Mayor - official acknowledgment of their achievement.
Featured on MySGV's channel - seen by a real audience across the San Gabriel Valley.
A college application story - "I interviewed the Mayor of Arcadia about my ideas" is a line that gets read twice.

What parents ask us
Does my child need experience?
No. The workshop starts from fundamentals - how to speak, listen, and ask questions - and builds up to hosting a real interview. Beginners are exactly who this is for.
Is the mayor interview real?
Yes. Each student gets a one-on-one, professionally recorded interview with Arcadia's mayor in the final week, plus a Certificate of Recognition.
Where do classes happen?
At Creation Talent Academy in Arcadia, inside the working studio where MySGV Podcast records its episodes.
What if this cohort fills up?
The workshop is recurring - a new 10-week cohort begins after each one ends, with different featured guests. But only the students enrolled in a cohort get that cohort's finale interview, and each is capped at 20.
Ten weeks from now, they will have interviewed the Mayor.
Public speaking, interviewing, and podcasting - taught in a real studio, finished with real footage. Reserve your child's spot today.
